The book “The Owl of the Sipan Lord’’ reveals an archaeological Journey but given an essence of Love !!!

Clare Montgomery is an Archaeologist, she used to go to digs with her husband Martin. When he died she stays away from the place where he was killed. She was drawn back to find some answers. Teaming up with Cord, a man who has always secretly loved her, and a few others the group heads to Peru to discover the secrets of The Temple of the Moon, El Brujo and the Lady of Cao. They will need their wits, their bravery and a lot of luck as mysteries pile up. This is a great story with adventure, mystery, fun and a bit of romance.

I loved the characters and the atmosphere, Author Viv Drewa has created and shared with readers. When I started reading it, in the first page itself it created suspense and attracted me towards completing the story. To my surprise I completed it at a go.

I am a believer of dream and this book gives emphasis on dream. It made me to believe that every dream has a meaning. Another good feature of the book is; it is a career oriented Love Story.

If you are searching for a good and thrill read then this one is the best for you !!!!

I absolutely loved this book!! Taylor's struggle with his triggers and PTSD showed that with lots of support and community outreach that we can help those that have served this country. There was so much information woven in the story that it just made it all the better. Taylor and Beth's story was beautiful. The relationship development was perfect and believable. It made my heart hurt for all the vets out there that struggle and don't have the means or knowledge of treatment. God bless those that struggle and live with PTSD everyday and God bless our active and reserve military! Great book, great message, and highly recommend! This series just keeps getting better and better!!

This book is more than a sci fi novel, it's also a mystery with a love triangle. The settings are unique and so are some of the alien species that populate the story. The main character, who earned his nickname, is a very compelling man and so are close rivals. The female lead is a strong, smart, beautiful woman who is up to the task to deal with Wolf's complex deviousness. The first in a series, Lone Wolf is also quite good as a stand-alone. Of course, the ending does make you want to continue on.

We love to travel as a family and I am always on the lookout for things that will help my kids learn more about the world around them. I love travel books and feel they give the reader a chance to learn a little bit of new information about destinations before they head out on a trip. The Seven Natural Wonders Of The Earth (My First Travel Books) by Anna Othitis shows kids some of the most wonderful places in the world to visit. I feel like it is kid friendly enough to instill in them a sense of wonder and awe.

I wish that I'd had books like this when I was little. I think it would have made me more interested in Geography. I would have paid more attention in class! My kids loved looking at the pictures and reading about all the places we may never get the chance to visit. The photos and illustrations in the book are beautiful, yet it is written in a way that children can understand and really get captivated by.

The kids felt like they were on a real tour with Captain Frankie leading the way. The map inside helped them to really visualize where in the world the Seven Wonders are. I like that parts of the story describe a little about each attraction. It then has a Q&A to help the kids remember what they've learned. It isn't just a picture book.

I haven't had the chance to read the 1st book in the series but after having read the 2nd, I'll definitely be purchasing the 1st and continued books in the My First Travel Books series.

WHO WE ARE

VIV DREWA

Viv is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan her passion has always been writing.

She was awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and recently had it published again on Amazon.com

Viv took creative and journalism courses to help in her transition to fulfill her dream of becoming a writer. She worked as an intern for Port Huron's 'The Times Herald", and also wrote, edited and did the layout or the Blue Water Multiple Sclerosis newsletter "Thumb Prints." 

She teaches sewing to physically and mentally disabled adults, a cause close to her heart.

Viv also writes two blogs to help promote our authors.

KAREN VAUGHAN

Karen Vaughan lives in Peterborough Ontario with her husband Jim and a cat named JJ. She is the mom of a 26-year-old daughter and four grown stepchildren, a newborn granddaughter and a 6-year-old grandson named Izak who could very well be smarter than a fifth grader. DEAD COMIC STANDING is her second novel. Her first novel DEAD ON ARRIVAL garnered praise from friends, family, and online gamers. She also enjoys doing crafts and other hobbies. Her third book and sequel to DEAD ON ARRIVAL is called OVER HER DEAD BODY. DAYTONA DEAD is the third in that series and was released in May 2013. Other than writing Karen loves to read, do crafts and play online games. Currently, she hosts an internet radio show called WRITERS ROUND TABLE since January the 14th, 2014. A sudden knock on the door was quite unusual for their house. “Do you have company?” “No,” Jaysen Stripe was just as surprised and put the remote down on the coffee table. He answered the door, “Hello!” Crystal Smart had dropped by with a grey box in her hands. With a big smile on her face she said, “Hey, Jaysen!” “Sebastian, it is Crystal from Brown’s Burgers down the street,” Jaysen announced. Sebastian got up and walked to the front door to greet her. “Hello.” “What’s in the box, Crystal?” Crystal Smart’s face lit up like a light bulb when she saw Sebastian. He was wearing grey jogging pants (which matched the box Crystal was holding) and a cut-off t-shirt, which made his muscular arms show their definition. Quickly taking her eyes off Sebastian so no one would notice Crystal Smart said, “I brought some baked goods...Cupcakes, really,” then opened up the lid to reveal a dozen cupcakes. “Please come in,” Jaysen swung the door open wider. “Thank you, Jaysen,” Crystal walked right in and placed the box on the island. “I hope you boys don’t mind,” asking in a sheepish tone. “Not at all,” Jaysen replied, closing the door after her. Sebastian grabbed Jaysen by the arm, “I want to talk.” “Okay,” then turned to Crystal, “Please excuse us for a moment.” They men left the kitchen to Sebastian’s office, which was the closest office to the main area. As Sebastian had closed the door behind him, Jaysen asked, “What’s wrong with you?” “What will happen when that electric woman we see comes back?” It was something that Jaysen Stripe had never thought of. What if she suddenly made a cameo appearance; what would Crystal think? How would she react? Jaysen leaned against the office door, thinking of what might be. “I don’t like junk food,” Sebastian Masters added. “Yeah, I know you don’t,” Jaysen replied still thinking. “Wait! We have some wine. We can open a bottle and share it, so if that entity makes a surprise comeback Crystal Smart won’t be fazed by it,” Jaysen finally made the suggestion. “I do not drink,” Sebastian Masters seemed to be protesting. “Sebastian, you don’t need to drink. Have some water, milk, whatever!” “Okay,” Sebastian said releasing a sigh of relief. Returning to the kitchen, they saw Crystal Smart holding one of the kittens. “It’s so cute! What his or her name?” “Mi minino,” Sebastian called out smiling. “That’s his name?” Crystal shot a queer look at both men. “Minino is Spanish for pussycat,” Jaysen Stripe explained. “Oh, okay,” Crystal giggled, “he belongs to you, Sebastian?” “Yes. I have six kittens.” The sudden look of shock took Crystal Smart’s face, nearly her whole body. She could not believe how one person can have so many kittens. Handing the kitten over to Sebastian with a smile she said, “Well, shall we dig in?” “I have some wine if you like,” Jaysen forwarded his suggestion to Crystal. “Actually I think I’ll have a beer, if you have any,” then looking at Sebastian, “are you drinking?” “I do not drink,” Sebastian said, petting holding his kitten to his chest, making his arms flex involuntarily. Jaysen was surprised at the request for a beer rather than wine. “I didn’t know you were a beer woman.” “Yup, I only drink wine or champagne on special occasions like birthdays, Christmas. That sort of thing,” Crystal Smart said. “Let me help you.” Crystal found her way around the kitchen quite fast. Although it was not a very big house, she had found a glass platter to put the cupcakes on. While she did that, Jaysen Stripe had gotten two beers from the fridge and asked Sebastian what he would prefer. “Milk,” he responded, gently placing his kitten on the floor. It ran off in search of its friends – the other five kittens. It was sunny that afternoon, but they decided to stay indoors making small talk sitting at the island. Between the conversation pieces they stumbled on, Crystal Smart kept looking at Sebastian Masters and ever so often glanced at Jaysen Stripe. “You know, Jaysen, I never got to know what you really do,” Crystal stated while eating a cupcake and fantasying about Sebastian. Whether it was a statement or a question, it took Jaysen by surprise. He started chocking on his drink. When he finished clearing his throat of all the liquid that went down the wrong pipe, Jaysen said, “I’m an author. I have a story currently in the works.” “What is it about?” “Good luck, Crystal. He will never tell me,” Sebastian said, smiling at his roommate. “That’s not fair. I have to ask you sometimes about certain things which you know,” Jaysen protested by having a clean bite of a cupcake. By this time Crystal Smart was laughing so hard, her face began to turn red.

 

A SHORT EXCERPT FROM IT TAKES A THIEF BY DELLANI OAKES

"Do you think I did the right thing?" She put aside the papers, staring at him in earnest. "Should I have sent that boy to prison instead?"

"Honey, you couldn't have convicted that boy for crimes he didn't commit. You aren't built like that. Besides, you're not looking at the bigger picture here."

"What's the bigger picture, Kyle?"

"If this kid comes through, you'll have been responsible for taking down an international thief and murderer."

"How can we be certain she really exists?"

"Something put a smile on that lad's face, and it sure wasn't self-induced. She's real, all right. And we're going to nail her."

"I hope he doesn't get in over his head. He's just a kid."

"That kid has survived for ten years as a criminal. The first five he lived on his wits alone, surviving the streets. He's taught himself seven different languages, honed his accent to sound like a gentleman and has more silk shirts than Jay Gatsby."

Honoria smiled, raising an eyebrow at his literary allusion. Kyle rarely said things like that.

"I'd hardly compare him to The Great Gatsby, Kyle."

"Oh, I don't know. Gatsby was a self-made man as well and he acquired most of it illegally, just like Jason."

AN EXCERPT FROM THE ANGLER & THE OWL! VIV DREWA

After setting up her tent and campsite she grabs her camera case and notebook and headed into the forest. France came across a female screech owl sitting on its nest and started taking pictures. Since the owl was still she didn’t use the video option on her camera.                 She smelled something foul, then heard a low growl. As she slowly turned she saw a small black bear standing behind her just to her right. She couldn’t help wondering where its mama was.                 The bear growled harder and she felt herself freeze in place. France was sweating because of the hot day, but started to feel cold. She slowly went to reach for her bear spray in her belt, on her right side. Suddenly that’s when the bear got hold of her right forearm. She had to reach for the bear spray with her left hand. She turned toward it and sprayed. That only caused the bear to shake its head while biting down harder on her arm. It pulled her so hard she fell on her knees almost facing the bear. France heard a snap and prayed the bear stepped on a branch and that it wasn’t her arm breaking.                 She thought she was dead, for sure. The bear was not willing to let go. France didn’t feel any pain, yet. She was just scared; very scared, and started shaking. She kept telling herself not to panic. Once feeling in control she decided to spray the bear again, thinking only to aim directly for its eyes and nose.                 The bear finally let go France got up and ran like hell.

“Now! Tell me now because I’ve got two of ours in fuckin’ God knows where and they’re being hunted. Tell me what the fuck made you think it was okay to send them any-fuckin’-where.” Jesus. He’s ready to hit me. “You telling me I head up Protectors made me think you meant it. I’m doing the job you gave me, but I’m fighting everyone’s assumption that I’m still a fuck-up. If you’d take a fuckin’ minute and listen I can explain.” Fuck! He’s got his hand wrapped around my neck and I’m slammed against the wall before I can even register he moved. “I don’t give a fuck whose family you are. I deserve more respect than I’ve seen out of you. If you can’t get it together then drop the fuckin’ cut now.” What? I’ve given him respect. I’m trying to think of when I’ve been disrespectful to him then just give up. “You know what, take it. You’re not listening, but threatening me. Take the fuckin’ cut and I’ll go back to the school with the kids. Pick someone you trust to lead the Protectors because I’m not it and I’m fuckin’ tired of having to prove myself. I’m done.” He steps back shocked. As soon as his hand loosens I move breathing heavy. He knows what putting his hands on me does. Walking down the hall I shrug the cut off and send it back to him. “I’ll be waiting in the locker room for the kids when they’re done.
